Glynis and I went swimming in the morning. I was amazed that Glynis at 8 months pregnant was able to swim for 35 minutes without taking a break! My body was stiff and sore so I had to stop every few laps to stretch - a sign of getting older I guess.
After our swim and a shower, we waited for Kevin to come home from Mandarin lessons before having lunch and then we all headed out to Shanghai Science and Technology Mueum. We didn't actually go to the museum, instead we went to the market underneath to look for some bargains. Kevin took the opportunity to practice his Mandarin with the stall holders while Glynis and I looked around the shops. Actually, Kevin ended up buying more stuff than Glynis and I which is quite surprising considering he doesn't like shopping :-).
In the first stall, we ended up arguing with the woman who was not happy with our bargaining. Kevin and I went to do the walk-out but Glynis felt bad so she went back in and paid her asking price. Really, in the end, we were haggling over 2 dollars.
The photo shows Kevin haggling with another stall holder over a back-pack. I don't think the stall holder was too impressed with me taking his photo.
After a couple of hours at the markets we were exhausted so we headed back home and to Starbucks. We spent the evening trying to watch Michael Clayton but we were all too tired. We'll have to finish it tomorrow...
