Hidden treasures in KL

This morning I headed to the doctor for an appointment and then came back home to do a bit of housework and catch up on my blog.

Around lunchtime, I went to pick up Ross and we headed to KLCC for lunch. As I pulled into Ross' office building, Julia pulled up behind me. She had just sent me a text to see if we could meet up for lunch - and there she was! We all met up at California Pizza Kitchen.

Ross left us and headed back to work as Julia and I headed to Dome for a coffee. Previously Julia had talked about a cheap Chinese butcher that she new so she took me out there to show me where it was.

The butcher was just behind Bukit Bintang and you wouldn't recognize it if you weren't looking for it. It is actually a wholesale business so you need to buy in bulk. Julia bought an entire beef tenderloin, a whole leg of lamb and 3kg of beef mince for only 115 MYR (about $50 Aus) - the cheapest I have heard of in KL!

The meat came deep frozen and if you want it cut up, you take it to a couple of ladies in a small room with a bansaw who slice it to your requirements and shove it back in the shopping bag - love it! Julia gave me a couple of steaks to try and Ross and I marinated them and had them for dinner - not bad! I will definitely be going back.

In the afternoon, I watched a few more episodes of Brothers and Sisters before Ross came home. We ate dinner then went for a walk in the park. The photo was taken in one of silver balls on the bridge by KLCC - a pretty cool reflection of the Petronus Towers.
