We walked all through the gardens which were beautiful before heading back to the hotel to shower. We relaxed and cooled down for a while before heading down to Orchard Road to take the MRT to Clarke Quay for lunch.
When we arrived, we couldn't believe how quiet it was - it seemed that nobody was around yet. We walked for a while before deciding to stop at the Tapas Tree for some lunch and a sparkling sangria. Again, the heat got the better of us so we headed back to the metro station to go back to the hotel.
At the hotel, we changed into our swimmers and went straight to the pool to cool off for a while. We ordered Pina Coladas and read our books before tiredness took over and we had to go to the room for a nap!
We woke up in time to shower and get ready to go and see Cats at the Esplanade Theatre. We went early and had a few drinks and something to nibble on at "7atenine"; a funky tapas type restaurant and bar overlooking the water. We headed to the theatre about 7.30pm for the show and had a glass of champagne before heading in. The photo is us with cut-outs of the main characters. The character on the right - Rum Tum Tugger - was the best in the show by far.
We enjoyed Cats but it definitely was not one of the best musicals we have been to however the Australian cast made it much funnier and more interesting than when I had seen it last in Adelaide about 13 years ago.
After the show we headed back to the hotel, exhausted but happy after a packed and interesting day in Singapore.
