The second project we worked on today was a combination of weaving and head pin work. We used 9 small beads and wove them together to form one larger bead. We then used head pins to combine it together with other beads to form drop earrings. I really liked the woven bead and could see how you could do many things with this. I finished about 12 and on my way out I picked up a few supplies so that I could try this at home.
From the beading class, I drove out to Ikano to pick up the things that we had dropped off there to be fixed. They had replaced the wheels on the suitcase, restitched the backpack and resoled the insoles of my white thongs. They still had to get the cat pee smell off of my orange handbag! Everything they did was really good so I am hoping that they can get the smell out of my bag.
I grabbed some lunch at Sushi King and picked up a few things from Cold Storage before heading home. At home, I practiced making some of the woven beads, watched some TV and relaxed for most of the afternoon. Ross came home just before 6 and we headed out to meet Debbie and Dan for dinner at 7.
We had met Debbie and Dan at the Oilman's Ball back in May. We walked over to an area behind KLCC past the Australian High Commission and went to a little restaurant called Euro Deli. It is a Swiss/ German restaurant and quite quirky. We had a nice meal and caught up on each others holidays and activities since last time we saw them. Dan invited us back to their place for a night cap and we spent another couple of hours chatting and having a look around their apartment. They had a lot of rosewood furniture made in Melaka including an amazing bar, beautiful desks and even a humidor for Dan's cigar collection. They also had a home spa set up in their apartment and had a masseuse who came to their house for 50 ringgit and hour! They really had their stuff sorted!
We left them about 11 and walked home. It was a nice night and great to see them again.
PS No dress today :-( It was actually cold here in KL - 23 degrees and raining most of the day.
