Back to KL - Merdeka Day in Malaysia!

This morning we woke up, made French toast for breakfast, packed up our car and headed home! We were going to go to the Jurong Bird park on the way but it was pouring rain so we skipped it and continued on our way.

At the Singapore border, we handed over our passports and immigration cards and put our e-pass in the machine so it could take off the money for the tolls. We then drove over the bridge across the water (see photo) to the Malaysian immigration and repeated the process.

3 and a half hours later we were home. It was so great to see the cats again after 3 weeks! The rest of the day was spent on the couch watching TV. We even ordered in dinner from Kenny Rogers Roasters for dinner because we didn't have any food in the house. A great, lazy way to spend the day.

Today is Merdeka day here in Malaysia. 52 years that Malaysia has been an independent country. Unlike last year, there was no concert in the Exxon Mobil carpark - shame :-)
