Batu Caves and KL Tower

To make the most of the second last day that Dad and Ann are in KL, we headed out to the Batu Caves, just north of the city. The caves are reached by climbing 272 steps where you then enter the Hindu temple. The caves also hosts one of the world's largest gatherings for the festival of Thaipusam.

The statue in the picture is the Hindu deity, Lord Muruga and is 130ft tall.

As we climbed the steps, many monkeys entertained us and helped keep our mind off the number of steps left to go! Actually, it was a pretty easy climb.

After visiting the Caves, we headed off to the KL Tower to get a different view of the city. It is worth going up the tower but it is pretty pricey and super touristy so I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry. Next time I think we'll go to the revolving restaurant in the tower instead.

Ross and I headed out in the afternoon to catch up with friends for dinner and drinks... and more drinks... and dancing. Needless to say I am typing this with a hangover!
