We drove to our site, set up Bessie and then walked to the beach for our first glimpse at Eighty Mile Beach. It was a beautiful day. We soon got hungry so headed back to Bessie to enjoy an amazing lunch with a beer (of course). After lunch, Ross and I relaxed outside Bessie while Elyse hit the beach. We spent a couple of hours relaxing, I tried to catch up on my blog, before putting our togs on and going to find Elyse on the beach. By this time it was late afternoon and getting a bit cool but it didn’t stop a lot of eager fisherman (although we didn’t see many people catching fish!).
When we got too cold, we headed back to Bessie to get some warm clothes, the sparkling shiraz and then headed back to the beach to watch the sunset – magnificent! We were surprised that not many people were actually down at the beach, most were back in the caravan park.
After finishing our drinks and making the most of the sunset, we headed back for showers before dinner. Ross cooked up rissoles and sausages while Elsie and I got busy fixing the salads and more importantly keeping the cocktails flowing!
As usual, the night was spent playing cards and finishing our liquor supplies (which we definitely underestimated!).
