Going home!

Today I spent the day travelling back to KL. Taxi to Southern Cross Station, bus to airport and then the 8 hour flight back to KL.

I did a bit of duty free shopping in the airport in Melbourne and then had a spot of lunch. When I checked the departures board, I thought it was quite funny that the status of my flight was "Relax".

As we flew out of Melbourne, you could still see the fire front and smoke from the horrendous fires of the past few days outside of Melbourne. I had watched the news in the morning on TV but had to turn it off as it was too upsetting to watch. One story did bring a smile to my face though: Sam the Koala who had managed to survive the fires. The flight was fine except for constant annoying turbulence. Luckily it was a day flight so it didn't really matter too much.

When I arrived home, it was great to see Ross again. Also, he surprised me by going to pick up the cats so I had a great greeting from them too!

It's so nice to be home!
